IT Problems:

Does your office still rely on "Sneaker-net" to move data, documents and communications between workers?

Can your employees "Tele-commute" effectively, saving your company money by reducing/eliminating office overhead?

Do you have a reliable, comprehensive data backup/recovery/access system in place and "contingency plans" for "What if..."?

Are you able to monitor workflow and workplace conditions visually both on and off-site to enhance workplace safety and security?

Successful Solutions

One:

An “Absentee Owner” of a large apartment building catering to seniors wanted “real time” control of data and access control systems as well as video security for building entry points. We installed a video monitoring system that is accessible from any internet capable computer and networked the on-site computer system with the owner’s home offices. The owner can now monitor and manage this and her other properties from home or on the road. Her tenants report feeling “more secure” as they found unauthorized access to their building virtually eliminated.

The cost of both systems was recovered in 6 months by the elimination of part time position and reduction in fees from accountants who are able to eliminate office appointments by accessing the property data from their offices.

Two:

A large property ownership/management company wanted video security at 2 locations in a small, eastern Colorado town.

After installing video monitoring systems, the company found a 90% reduction in losses/theft from their convenience store and 80% reduction in losses/theft in their motel buildings. The motel also experiences a 100% occupancy rate in their “Road Warrior” rooms that we designed and equipped with Internet access, computers, printers, fax and wireless connectivity. DBS-IT is involved in the upgrading of present and future acquisitions of this company.

Three:

In late 2003, DBS started testing the “telecommuting theory" with a small number of our negotiators. By 2004 we eliminated our large corporate office and chose a “virtual workplace” arrangement for all consultants and negotiators.

The bottom line cost savings, after factoring in the one time expenses for hardware and software, was a reduction of our total “Office” expenses of 60%. Our employee attrition and “sick time” has dropped to zero. Our ability to spend more time with clients increased and less time was wasted in our expensive, often empty, leased office park location. Information lag doesn’t exist any more. In tracking resource utilization, we found our employees becoming more efficient and effective. In the two year transition period, we also found a lot of “theories” that didn’t work. Our client companies profit from this experience and so can yours. Data Protection
("Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got till it's gone")

With all apologies to Joni Mitchell and her "Big Yellow Taxi" song, circa 1970, all it takes is one experience with your data "disappearing" (circa 2006) and you realize how dependent we've become on the data contained on company servers and individual PC's.

HIPPA and SARBOX are just two of the governmental requirements regarding data storage, access and security that companies must face.

We can assist in assuring compliance as well as providing solutions for off-site backup and storage of vital data. Our systems are fully automated, redundant and transparent to daily use and are reasonably priced. Schedule a time for a consultant to provide an analysis of your present data utilization and recommendations to ensure the availability of your "lifeblood" in the event of the unexpected, but almost certain "system crash". As a computer engineer once told us, "The failure rate of ALL computers is 100%. It's simply a question of when". Preparation now can reduce or eliminate disasters later. Contrary to popular legend, data replication and stoage is not expensive considering the loss of business and the cost of rebuilding lost systems and data.

Our IT consultants are "cost/benefit" driven and don't view IT projects as a "blank check". Remember, being a debt management company, we believe that "The budget is King". A balance between "The latest, greatest technology" and available fumds must be struck for long term success!
